Life at Shipston Lodge
As a family-run home with a wealth of experience in first-class care, Shipston Lodge offers the opportunity to live in a well-appointed, purpose-built home in the charming, characterful market town of Shipston-on-Stour.
There’s never a dull day here at Shipston Lodge, as the home really is a hive of activity. At the heart of it all is the café, which is a great social space serving delicious refreshments all day, every day. It has been decorated to the highest standards and has been fitted out with comfortable, high-end furniture – it offers the ideal space to socialise with other residents or visiting family and friends. The light and airy Garden Lounge opening out to the main garden, and the Lavender Lounge leading to the raised terrace, help to bring the outside in and give Shipston Lodge a wonderful ambiance.
Designed with a homely nature, Shipston Lodge has 70 light, spacious en-suite bedrooms, all surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens. A select number of these are Premium Rooms, which offer extra space, and Garden Rooms, with cosy private garden spaces adjoining each bedroom. Please ask about these exclusive bedrooms when you’re looking around if they are of interest to you. All of this, along with our high-quality furnishings and tasteful décor, is enhanced by our high-quality, all-inclusive, person-centred care.

It’s not just care we consider, as we also look after your wellbeing, which is why we have such great facilities onsite that make life here even more enjoyable, including a hairdressing salon. We offer fantastic culinary delights too, with a brilliant menu that keeps your nutritional needs in mind; with fresh, local produce, all meal options are both healthy and delicious. We even have a private dining room available for residents, their friends and family members to use for get-togethers and special celebrations – and it’s all part of the all-inclusive care.
Ideally located on Tilemans Lane in Shipston-on-Stour, a stone’s throw away from the charming town centre and just across the road from Shipston Primary School, Shipston Lodge is near to all the local amenities you could possibly need, so if you want to pop to the deli for a treat or get some fresh air by the river, you’re in the perfect place.
With 10 Extra Care apartments onsite too, there’s a real community spirit in the area, with lots going on and plenty to get involved with. Better yet, Shipston-on-Stour was declared as the best place to live in the Midlands in the Sunday Times in March 2018!
So, would life at Shipston Lodge suit you?
Our Care Vision

‘Life is for Living’
“They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.”
T. Bodett

We believe that in care homes, high-quality care should be a given, and we should strive to enhance residents’ quality of life – this has formed the basis for the ethos of our care.
To provide that elevated quality of life, each resident should have:
Someone to love – relationships are vital to enjoying life. Our staff will form positive relationships with those living here and we will work with residents to maintain meaningful relationships with family and friends.

Something to do – we believe that life should be full of interesting things to do and we will live up to this by providing our residents with a wide variety of meaningful activities and opportunities to have fun throughout the day.

Something to hope for – life should be fulfilling when you live in a care home, with all sorts of things to look forward to. By finding out what is important to residents, we aim to assist them in creating new memories to cherish.
What our residents and relatives say

“Mum has settled in very well, she loves her room and the food. The staff are very helpful and tentative to Mum’s needs. The family are made very welcome, and pod visiting is very well organised. There are plenty of activities for Mum to join in, and she is taken out of her room daily. Mum is very happy, and so are our family. Thank you to the management team for a very warm, friendly and caring staff and care home!”

“Thank you just doesn’t sound quite good enough. Have visited Shipston Lodge 3 times, it is like a 5-star Hotel. Each time felt so comfortable, spoilt, very friendly. We have just checked my father in for a 24hour stay… We had peace of mind knowing he was safe, couldn’t get out and go walkabout. His room is huge, also the bathroom… All the staff from management and your team are so professional, nothing was too much, all very friendly, easy, comfortable.”

Karen D (Daughter of Resident)

“Shipston Lodge was fantastic. The care and compassion that was shown to my friend were outstanding. Lovely rooms, wonderful food, first-class nursing, lots of activities. The end of life care was emotional but extremely caring and loving. Wonderful place.”

Lynda L (Next of Kin)

“Clearly giving excellent care to my mother. Really valuable feedback from all the staff I’ve spoken with. This has helped enormously to lift a lot of the worry and stress from my shoulders, being stuck, as I am a long way from the home, in a foreign country, unable to travel or visit during the pandemic. Knowing that Mum is in a safe and in a genuinely caring environment – well there is nothing more important. Thank you.”

Katie L (Daughter of Resident)
March 2021

“Friendly, efficient and professional staff/nurses. Clean comfortable rooms. Nice friendly atmosphere. Very good facilities. My father celebrated his 90th birthday at Shipston Lodge and the chef organised a very good lunch for 6 of us in a comfortable private dining room and sitting room.”

M M (Son of Resident)

“Shipston Lodge which opened in the autumn of 2019 is an excellent Nursing Home with wonderful staff and facilities. My wife has been a resident since November 2019 and the level of care that she has received could not be bettered.”
