Life at Shipston Lodge
As a family-run home with a wealth of experience in first-class care, Shipston Lodge offers the opportunity to live in a well-appointed, purpose-built home in the charming, characterful market town of Shipston-on-Stour.
There’s never a dull day here at Shipston Lodge, as the home really is a hive of activity. At the heart of it all is the café, which is a great social space serving delicious refreshments all day, every day. It has been decorated to the highest standards and has been fitted out with comfortable, high-end furniture – it offers the ideal space to socialise with other residents or visiting family and friends. The light and airy Garden Lounge opening out to the main garden, and the Lavender Lounge leading to the raised terrace, help to bring the outside in and give Shipston Lodge a wonderful ambiance.
Designed with a homely nature, Shipston Lodge has 70 light, spacious en-suite bedrooms, all surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens. A select number of these are Premium Rooms, which offer extra space, and Garden Rooms, with cosy private garden spaces adjoining each bedroom. Please ask about these exclusive bedrooms when you’re looking around if they are of interest to you. All of this, along with our high-quality furnishings and tasteful décor, is enhanced by our high-quality, all-inclusive, person-centred care.
It’s not just care we consider, as we also look after your wellbeing, which is why we have such great facilities onsite that make life here even more enjoyable, including a hairdressing salon. We offer fantastic culinary delights too, with a brilliant menu that keeps your nutritional needs in mind; with fresh, local produce, all meal options are both healthy and delicious. We even have a private dining room available for residents, their friends and family members to use for get-togethers and special celebrations – and it’s all part of the all-inclusive care.
Ideally located on Tilemans Lane in Shipston-on-Stour, a stone’s throw away from the charming town centre and just across the road from Shipston Primary School, Shipston Lodge is near to all the local amenities you could possibly need, so if you want to pop to the deli for a treat or get some fresh air by the river, you’re in the perfect place.
With 10 Extra Care apartments onsite too, there’s a real community spirit in the area, with lots going on and plenty to get involved with. Better yet, Shipston-on-Stour was declared as the best place to live in the Midlands in the Sunday Times in March 2018!
So, would life at Shipston Lodge suit you?
Our Care Vision
‘Life is for Living’
“They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.”
T. Bodett
We believe that in care homes, high-quality care should be a given, and we should strive to enhance residents’ quality of life – this has formed the basis for the ethos of our care.
To provide that elevated quality of life, each resident should have:
Someone to love – relationships are vital to enjoying life. Our staff will form positive relationships with those living here and we will work with residents to maintain meaningful relationships with family and friends.
Something to do – we believe that life should be full of interesting things to do and we will live up to this by providing our residents with a wide variety of meaningful activities and opportunities to have fun throughout the day.
Something to hope for – life should be fulfilling when you live in a care home, with all sorts of things to look forward to. By finding out what is important to residents, we aim to assist them in creating new memories to cherish.
What our residents and relatives say
“Outstanding service! They accommodated my 90-year-old mother on short notice due to her hip dislocation. The staff, food, and support during her week-long stay were excellent. I was tempted to check in myself!”
Relation of Resident
“My 92-year-old grandma, with complex health issues, found a suitable place at Shipston Lodge after navigating NHS challenges. The top-notch facilities, dedicated staff, and high-quality care provide reassurance for her and our family in her twilight years.”
Relation of Resident
“My relative has been in three care homes in the past two years, and this is the one that shows caring. The staff know their residents and have a lovely way with them. We appreciate it very much. We like the atmosphere and approach of everyone here. Thank you very much.”
Relation of Resident
“Mum has been here for ten months now. She has settled brilliantly, and the staff know her really well. Care is always dignified and respectful, and Mum is as well looked after as if she lived with family.”
Relation of Resident
“I’m impressed with Shipston Lodge since my wife moved there. The staff, care, and quality of the home are excellent. She’s happy, and I’m confident she’s in good hands. The friendly staff keeps me updated on her well-being.”
Relation of Resident
“Mum came into Shipston Lodge, and within days, she felt settled and at “home”. The staff have been amazing in helping her to adjust. Mum has nothing but praise for the staff, how she is treated with dignity and respect, and how fast they respond to the call bells. Mum has said it’s like a luxury hotel. The food is good, and the variety is amazing. From my point, the staff keep us informed of any changes in Mum’s needs.”
Relation of Resident
“My father has been a resident at Shipston Lodge since early December. The consistency of care and sensitivity of the staff is apparent from the outset. I have felt assured that he is not just ‘looked after’ but ‘cared for’. All interactions at every level for myself and his friends when making phone enquiries or visiting in person have been pleasant, courteous and shown understanding.”
Relation of Resident
“The biggest difference with Shipston Lodge is that all the staff really care and go that extra mile with the care. This must be a culture as everyone is the same. The atmosphere is always upbeat and cheery. It’s a very hard thing to let someone else look after your loved one, but this place really is the best.”
