Living with dementia can be scary for both those living with it, and their relatives; and we understand that everyone’s experience with dementia is very different.
Specialist dementia care
Dementia can be scary for both those living with it, and their relatives; we understand that everyone’s experience with dementia is very different. Our nurses and carers are highly trained and compassionate who are onsite 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and go the extra mile to ensure that our dementia residents feel safe and secure in their new home. We are a family run nursing home with a focus on the individual, we believe in empowering our residents to enjoy the highest possible quality of life.
“My dad moved here from another care home and within days I saw an immediate positive change. My dad has late-stage vascular dementia and the care he has received from day one has been outstanding. The entire team are amazing and caring. The home is welcoming and there is an air of a relaxed and happy “home” for all the residents.” – Relative of a Shipston Lodge Resident
Enjoying life and living well
We recognise that keeping the mind and body as active as possible in later life are important for a person’s wellbeing,
so with that in mind:
• Our expert activities teams work hard to provide a whole host of events, clubs and occasions for our residents to take part in if they wish, offering opportunities to try new hobbies and socialise with other residents.
• We gather information about each resident’s interests and hobbies so that we can include these in the activities calendar to make them feel at home.
• In addition, our professional in-house chefs cater for all dietary requirements to ensure that all of our residents eat well via delicious, nutritious meals. Using fresh local produce to create marvellous culinary delights, our chefs make sure that there’s something for everyone on the menu

Location
Shipston Lodge is located on the outskirts of the charming market town of Shipston-on-Stour, just a short walk away from the town centre, which offers a post office, several small supermarkets, a chemist and a selection of other independent shops. Stratford-upon-Avon, Banbury and Moreton-in-Marsh are also not too far away should you feel like going further afield.
Keeping in touch
We recognise the importance of staying in regular touch with family and friends, as well as the positive impact that visits have on our residents. We continue to fully adhere to Public Health guidelines and have established a COVID-secure visiting room where relatives can see and speak to their loved ones in a relaxing environment. Other communication methods – such as video calls and phone calls – are also still available options if a physical visit isn’t possible.
Funding support
We provide a truly all-inclusive pricing policy which breaks down into one weekly fee, meaning residents and their families don’t have to worry about budgeting for anything extra in relation to their care, as it’s all taken care of. It also means that family and friends don’t have worry about the cost of a cup of tea when they visit, and if they want to take advantage of our private dining experience to celebrate a special occasion, then they can – it’s all included.
You may be eligible for financial support and help with funding your or your loved one’s care depending on your income, assets and where you live. Our team can advise further on this if required.
